ABOUT MY CHEDDAR PATTY MELT
1 teaspoon oil
2 slices of bread of your choice
1-2 slices of Sharp Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon tomato sauce or 1 teaspoon ketchup
1 slice of tomato
1 lettuce leaf or handful of mixed greens.
1/4 oz lb of 80/20 ground beef
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1⁄4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons tomato sauce or 2 teaspoons ketchup
1 teaspoon soy sauce
fresh ground black pepper, to taste
seasoned salt, to taste
1 tbsp of butter
To make patty: place beef, breadcrumbs, onion, herbs, egg yolk, tomato and soy sauces and black pepper in bowl and mix well to combine.
Using wet hands shape mixture into a patty.
Heat oil in a nonstick pan over medium high heat, add patty and cook for 4-5 minutes each side to your liking.
Take patty out of pan and wipe. Add 10-15 drops of Escape Oil sauté onions for 5-6 min.
Add butter until melted on low heat. Add bread slices to the pan with cheese on each side for 3-4 min.
Add patty to one side and add lettuce and tomato (optional)
Pat down with spatula 60 seconds on each side.
